And life goes on...

4am Anthony woke me crying. His tooth hurt. I gave him some Tylenol and let him snuggle with me, and Annie who had already come to visit shortly after midnight. When we woke up this morning his face was swollen, his gum was swollen and he went right back to bed telling me he was sick. So....we're off the the dentist office this afternoon for an emergency appointment.

He's a bit hesitant to say the least. His most recent dental experience is actually my most recent dental experiences: having my wisdom teeth out and having two root canals. Painful. Expensive. Poor guy. Hopefully all will be taken care of quickly and easily.

Unpacking the house is sort of at a standstill. There is only so much I can do without the furniture in place. The front room (still a mystery what that will be as the converted garage sort of became the living room) is packed full of boxes and miscellany waiting for a home.

The kids are having a lot of fun having freedom to go outside and play and run around. Anneliese and I found some egg shells today out in the back, which answers for all the tiny squeaking we've been hearing in the last few days. By the time Kevin gets home at the end of the week we should have a good growth of lawn for him to mow! There are lots of wild flowers sprouting up all over. The garden plot is quite over grown and needs tending desperately. The frame needs to be rebuilt and fencing needs to be put up around it to keep critters from visiting. All things in due time. I was hoping to get some things growing this summer...but I just can't see that happening yet. We have time. It'll all come together. Maybe I'll get some things in pots and just work the plot over the summer to get it ready for next spring.

I heard what sounded like artillery this morning when I was out in back. We're used to it from having been so close to the range and training facilities on Pendleton, but I thought we were father away from it here. At least there is not the constant noise from helicopters! Or the amphibious assault training that went on at all hours of the day and night. Thankfully we're far enough in land to avoid that!

Up the road a little ways I found a blueberry farm. I'm excited about that. Fresh blueberries! Yum.

I'm already thinking blueberry pie, blueberry tart...I think I've read somewhere that blueberry lemonade is quite tasty.
