Nature is visiting us.
On our patio out back some swallows made a mud nest that is hanging underneath the gutter. I'd say about 8 feet up the side of the house. Last year we thought it was abandoned. We never saw birds. It's been there so long that housing even painted it to match the house. They are protected birds you see, and you are not allowed to destroy their nest. This year we got lucky. I say it with a little sarcasm though. They are very territorial. They are not the least bit happy when we socialize out on the patio and disturb them. They dive bomb our heads. Can't blame them for protecting their young though. If you go out quietly you can hear the chirp-chirping of the babies.
