More often times than not I feel like I'm just the maid around here.
I'll be standing at the stove cooking something and before I even get whatever it is on a plate, platter, or in a bowl I have a bunch of guys hovering over me trying to pick at what I'm making. More often than not whatever it is gets eaten before I even have the chance to announce that I've made it. I went to Costco and bought eggs, tortillas, and bacon to make breakfast wraps cause I hate having to get up and make breakfast when the kids are both yelling at me. So I'm standing there making them at the stove and Peter comes in and tries to take one out of the ziplock bag I was putting them in. That kid will eat ya out of house and home. And then Xavier comes in and hovers over me staring at me working like "Oooh do I get one of those?!" Now granted, I wouldn't mind sharing...but I spend money on this food and the guys eat it before I even get a chance to try it myself! It pisses me off. And it's MY (kevin's and mine) money that I'm spending. They all expect to eat but not to contribute. The other day I bought food for Anthony because he's so picky. So I intentionally got food I knew he would eat. What happens? Before I even get home from the store Peter has drunk two of the yogurt drinks I got. The corn dogs are disappearing and no one is willing to admit to it. And the cream cheese is diminishing though I can't figure out how since the mini-bagels are still in the freezer.
And then add to all this the fact that they expect me to cook for them AND clean up all the dishes and utensils they use to eat all this food. And wash and fold the laundry that they dirty and leave laying around the house. If I didn't clean up around here...well I've seen what happens. The dishes sit there so long that they mold. And they start complaining that no one does the laundry.
Rawr.
Anthony tore my earring out the other day when he was having a tantrum and now it's infected. I think the hole got torn inside. It's amazing that something so small could hurt so much.
I've decided to build myself a little garden box. I'm going to plant beans and lettuce and tomatoes and stuff. Maybe flowers too. I miss working in a garden. We'll see how far I get on that. :)
I finishes reading a book called Smart Couples Finish Rich. Excellent. I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who is interested in saving for the future or getting their finances under control.
The other day I rented some movies and they were all pretty good. Granted I wasn't very fond of Brokeback Mountain, but the cinematography was great. I think I spelled that wrong but oh well.
Oopsies...baby woke up! Toodles for now.
