After the big storm in January an electrician came to evaluate the wiring in the house for the apraisal. Some of the wiring is under the house, so naturally he had to go under there to check it out. That's where the phone lines are as well. He was under there for quite a long time and came back with a strong recommendation to rewire. He was also nice enough, I found out the other day, to cross our two phone lines. I couldn't figure out why we had so much static on the line, and why we could hear the computer when it dialed up and was connected. So a guy from the phone company was nice enough to rectify the problem. All I can say for that electrician....not so great.

Last week we rented a movie called Born Into Brothels. It was basically a documentary about the children that live in the brothels in the red district in Calcutta. I was deeply touched by it...The conditions in which these children live are unbelievable. It's not only filthy and poor, but absolutely inhumane the way these people are treated and treat one another. Especially the treatment towards children. From birth, the girls are expected to join the brothels. The males...they're not much better off. Either they run a brothel, or they become drunks and drug users. Or both. It was one of those movies that makes you angry and sad, and want to take action. It's no wonder Mother Teresa found loving these people so rewarding and to be such a great work. They need the simplest things. It made me ask myself what I could do. To pray is obviously one thing. I don't know beyond that. I would recommend seeing it.

Today I was going to take Anthony to the park to feed the ducks. It's raining again. Yesterday it was beautiful, but there were so many people at the park that there were no parking places available. He'll be disappointed. Perhaps we'll go anyway and take some umbrellas. He was really looking forward to it.

Update on the house situation. It's been a while! A lot, and not much has happened. No one bought the house obviously, and our listing ran out last week. Which is kind of nice! No realistate agents calling at 7:30 in the morning to set up a showing. So the word is...Mom is going to refi and buy out dad. It should be final sometime this month I think. She's going to rent him the downstairs and then remodel the upstairs. And then she's going to sell. But this all won't be done for at least a year. The remodel that is. But it's going to be great. It's actually going to get done this time! It's very exciting.
I'm excited because I can go get my pictures out of storage and hang them back on the walls. I like being able to see my Kevin everyday. I missed that. I also get to take my kitchenaide back out. The lack of proper cooking tools has driven me mad the last couple of months. We'll be spending some time going through all the stuff we have in storage and getting rid of what can be bought later on. This is good. It'll cut down on how much stuff I have to move back into a smaller unit.

This is tedious, I know, but I found a great way to help Anthony change from one activity to another without so much arguing. An egg timer. I'm going to buy an egg timer and put it on a chain or something so he can put it around his neck or in his pocket. When the egg timer goes off it's time to stop whatever he's doing. Then he'll feel more in control of whats going on instead of feeling like he's being jolted around all the time. I think I'm getting a hang of this whole thing with dealing with his temperament. Phew!

From the way Anneliese is now, I have a feeling she'll be a lot like Anthony in that way. Very tempramental. God couldn't have given me mild mannered children. That would have been to easy!

In the past I don't think I've mentioned anything about wanting to lose this baby weight, but I soooo want to. It's actually not even baby weight. I weigh less than before I was pregnant, but I still want to lose about 10-15 more pounds. I'd be extremely happy to keep it off, too. Less sugar, more walking! I can do it! And I wouldn't mind looking great for Kevin's next homecoming, too.

Time for a warm shower. Baby is sleeping! Yay!
